Minister's Message August 2009

You Are Worth It

We live in a world and age of consumerism, where just like a packet of crisps or a piece of meat, are the tools of the trade for the big publicity campaigns, we are the commodities of marketing and packaging. They feed on the ego image of us the commodity, projecting a message of glamour and glitz.

They portray a message of hope and happiness. They present to a captive eager audience that life can be bigger, better and brighter. In so doing, in the nicest way possible they are telling you that your life stinks, your life is not good and your life needs an injection of ….. whatever they are selling.

From teenage magazines to SAGA we are bombarded with what we need, what we don’t need. What shape, what shampoo, what shop we need to have or use in order to become noticed, to become happy, and to be the best. It is all so very subliminal, so subtle ‘because you are worth it’.

Yes your ARE WORTH IT. In God's sight you are truly valued and precious. God loves you with an unconditional love. He cannot love you anymore than at this moment right now.

Your value is not based on what you do, but who you are. Jesus valued your life not in terms of money, but in his spilt life blood. You are more precious to him than anything money could buy.
