Minister's Message Christmas 2010
Children at Christmas
I must admit that their will be greater excitement in our home this Christmas... we have a 2 year old granddaughter! Many people say that Christmas is just for children, in one sense this is true for after all Christmas is all about a baby.
Most of our Carols refer to the "baby at Bethlehem" However the Carols invite is to look at him "Come and behold Him" to worship him "O come let us adore Him" More than that it asks us questions. "What child is this who laid to rest" Who is he?
We cannot separate the Baby from the Man or The Cradle from the Cross. Christmas and Easter are all part of the same story. Jesus is God come down to earth. He came as God's indescribable gift for all mankind. He came to give us something that will not get broken or used up as so many of our gifts will.
He came to give us an abundant life, to forgive us of our sins to give everlasting life and to live in us through the Holy Spirit.
In the words of the Carol "Yet what I can I give him-give my heart"
Have a great Christmas
